Richmond Park School is delighted to announce that its first Year 13 cohort will travel to Kenya in October to visit RPS Nursery Kenya in Lodwar, Turkana, as part of their CAS (Creativity, Activity and Service) programme. The visit will give students a unique opportunity to experience firsthand the impact of a project that reflects RPS’s commitment to global citizenship and social responsibility.
The trip coincides with the 15th anniversary of the Vipeika Foundation, which has provided early education to more than 21,900 children, established 16 educational centres, and awarded numerous secondary and university scholarships across Kenya.
Created through the partnership between RPS and Vipeika, RPS Nursery Kenya currently educates over 120 children and has capacity for 200 pupils. The school features fully equipped classrooms, outdoor learning spaces, solar energy and water filtration systems, while RPS also supports nutrition programmes and scholarships for its students.
The project has been made possible thanks to the generosity of families, pupils, teachers and the owners of RPS, as well as fundraising initiatives such as TingaTinga and House Days. Additional support has come from Lions Club España – Mijas, which recently donated €1,200 to improve children’s nutrition.
This visit will allow Year 13 students to witness the power of education to transform lives and strengthen the bonds between the RPS community and the children of Turkana. Together with the Vipeika Foundation, RPS remains committed to creating opportunities, dignity and hope for future generations.
