Reception visit to Atlantis Aquarium

This term in Reception, the children have been learning about ‘Animals around the World’. They have explored different types of animal habitats and how we can protect the environment. As part of this topic, the children visited the Atlantis Aquarium. They were able to see a wide range of sea creatures up close. They also participated in a workshop where they could explore different ocean artefacts, including shells and scales. These memorable first-hand experiences will enhance their understanding of the world around them and help them understand the important part they play in helping the world become more sustainable.

End of year 9 trip to Guardamar del Segura

On June 1 to 4 2023, 22 Year 9 students accompanied by Mr Bird all went on an exciting residential trip to Guardamar del Segura in the Alicante region. This was a magnificent opportunity to have fun together, work as a team, experience new activities and try some delicious food in the glorious sunshine. The activities ranged from kayaking, a day at Terra Mítica theme park, a boat trip to Isla Tabarca, a disco and nearby beach visits, in addition to time in the swimming pool. We stayed in a quiet residential complex and had fun in the evenings doing a number of activities. The food in the restaurant and the picnics were also enjoyed by all. Our monitors made sure that we all felt safe and relaxed during the visit and we came back recharged ready for the final few weeks of term. A lovely opportunity to spend time off site together in community. These memories will be treasured by our students for a long time to come. Well done to everyone involved.

End of year 6 trip to Piedrabuena

Year 6 had a fantastic time on our end of year trip last weekend! We went to a camp near Ciudad Real where we had the whole space to ourselves including a swimming pool. The monitors were really fun and taught us some dances, played games with us and told lots of (terrible!) jokes. We also had the chance to do paddle surf, kayaking and slacklining on the river which was located right next to the camp. Finally, we went to an attraction park where we did highlines, ziplines and played on a huge, inflatable water slide. The teachers were all so pleased with the children’s brilliant behaviour and everyone did themselves proud. Well done, Year 6!

Year 1 trip to Jardín Botánico

On Friday 9 June, to conclude their learning in science and topic on ‘Plants’, Year 1 visited the Real Jardín Botánico de Madrid. The children practised using a map to navigate their way around the gardens and searched for different plants along the way. They shared their prior learning about the features of different trees and plants and also enjoyed learning lots of interesting new information from our helpful guides. At the end of the trip, the children got to plant their own lentil seeds to take home and grow.
