Last Thursday 5 September we organised a Parents’ Welcome Evening to inaugurate our provisional facilities. Almost 300 people attended and parents were able to get to know the teaching staff, visit the classrooms and speak with other non-teaching colleagues.
After a brief introduction by the Chief Executive Officer, Juan Pedro González, the Directors of Education, Mrs Christine Curtis and Mr James Shallcross, spoke about the school’s key values, the main focus of learning in the first term and the special excitement of being founding families and staff. Mrs Anita Sanchez, the Primary Leader, introduced the teachers and assistants. Finally, each teacher led a presentation focused on key elements of education, school routines and procedures.
Everyone enjoyed the subsequent cocktail, which gave them the opportunity to meet one another more informally, accompanies by a musical group (mariachi). The whole event was very successful and provided a memorable, positive start to our new project.
