EYFS and Primary News and Information from Ms Sanchez:
I hope this message finds you and your family well after a relaxing and enjoyable summer break. As we step into this exciting new school year, I am delighted to welcome you all back to Richmond Park School.
To our returning families, I am pleased to have you back with us, and to those who are joining us for the first time, a very warm welcome to our school community. I look forward to getting to know you and your children as we embark on this journey together.
As the Executive Director of Primary and Early Years, my primary focus is on fostering a nurturing, inclusive, and stimulating environment where every child feels valued and supported in their learning. Our dedicated staff has been working hard to prepare enriching experiences that will inspire curiosity, creativity, and growth in each student.
We are pleased to welcome several new members to our Early Years and Primary teams. In the EYFS, Ms. Tilden joins us as the new Pre-Nursery teacher, while Ms. Larkin will be taking over as Nursery teacher, covering Ms. Brown’s maternity leave. Additionally, Ms. Williams will be supporting the Nursery class as our new Teaching Assistant.
In the Primary School, we are delighted to welcome Ms. Alcaide to Year 1, Ms. Sancho to Year 2, and Mr. Appleby to Year 5. Our Key Stage 1 team will also benefit from the support of two new Teaching Assistants, Ms. Alvarez and Ms. Porres. Lastly, Ms. Brown will be covering Mr. McGarry’s paternity leave in Year 4.
This year, we will continue to emphasise the importance of strong communication between home and school. We truly believe that your involvement is key to your child’s success, and we are committed to working in close partnership with you. Please do not hesitate to contact us at any time if you have questions, concerns, or ideas. Your input is highly valued, and we want to ensure that each child has the best possible experience at school.
Thank you for entrusting us with the education and care of your children. Together, I am confident that we will make this an exceptional year.
Secondary News and Information from Mr Conway:
I would like to join Ms Sanchez in welcoming all our students back to Richmond Park for the start of this academic year. We look forward to much success and exciting developments during this year.
Over this summer we celebrated our first set of IGCSE results, which were excellent. 57% of all grades were A* and A grades, an impressive figure and testament to the hard work of the students. We had one student gain a full set of A* and A grades, a superb result. All the students gained the grades to move on to their choice of their next stage of education, and they deserve our congratulations. We are very proud and pleased with their excellent achievements and look forward to our current Year 11 exceeding those amazing results next year!
We welcome some new members of staff to the Secondary Team. Mr Clark joins us as our Director of PE and Healthy Living, having worked previously in schools in the UK and Doha. Ms Chueca is our new Computing Teacher and Mr Espejo joins our Spanish department. Mr Nunes will be a part of our PE department and we are delighted to have Ms Prentice join from the UK as a specialist in English and Business Studies, and indeed Mathematics as well. We are very pleased to have specialist teachers for all our subjects.
Our International Baccalaureate plans are continuing. Ms Slack is our Director of Pre-University and will lead the IB process. We also have Ms Lovelle joining who will be developing Careers guidance for our students when choosing IB courses and eventually University Applications. Our plans for our exciting new IB Centre are well underway and we will be involving students in the development of this wonderful new building for the school.
We would like to remind all parents of the need to ensure uniform is correct and that students are properly organised for their studies. Each student is issued with a locker which, when used properly, assists organisation.
We look forward to working with you all on an exciting and successful year ahead at Richmond Park.
