Primary Welcome Letter
Dear Richmond Park School community,
It is with great pleasure that I welcome you all to the new academic year in the Primary and EYFS sections of Richmond Park School. Whether you are returning families or joining us for the first time, we are delighted to have you with us and look forward to an exciting year ahead.
It has been a lovely start to the term. Children across all year groups have settled well into their new classes, and it is a joy to see happy, confident learners walking into school each day. Our gently phased start for our youngest children in Pre-Nursery and Nursery has worked extremely well, helping them transition calmly into their new environment.
We are proud to announce that we are now officially a three-form entry school from Nursery to Year 6—a milestone that reflects the continued trust of our families and the strength of our school community.
We are also delighted to welcome four new teachers to our team this year:
- Ms Sugrue – Pre-Nursery
- Ms Le Page – Reception
- Ms MacDonald – Year 1
- Ms Cash – Year 5
They each bring enthusiasm, creativity, and a wealth of experience, and we are confident they will make a wonderful contribution to our school.
As we begin this new chapter, we remain committed to providing high-quality learning experiences, supporting each child’s individual journey, and working in close partnership with our families. We will be holding our Parent Information Meetings very shortly, which will give you a chance to hear more about the year ahead and meet your child’s class team.
We thank you for your continued support and look forward to sharing many special moments with you and your children throughout the year.
Warm regards,

Secondary Welcome Letter
Dear Richmond Park School community,
It is with great pleasure that I welcome you all to the new academic year at Richmond Park. Whether you are returning or joining us for the first time, we are delighted to have you as part of our growing and dynamic school community.
We begin the year with a sense of pride and momentum. Our IGCSE students achieved excellent results this summer, a testament to their hard work and the dedication of our teaching staff. These achievements reflect the high academic standards we continue to uphold across the school.
We are also thrilled to announce the opening of our new International Baccalaureate Centre, a purpose-built facility designed to support our Year 12 IB students. The building is fully ready, and we have welcomed our first cohort of IB learners, including students from other schools in Madrid and abroad. We are offering a full range of IB subjects in this state-of-the-art space and look forward to hosting several events throughout the year, including the Madrid UK University Fair in October. We will be arranging various opportunities for parents to visit and see the new building during the year.
As our school continues to grow, we are placing a strong emphasis on communication and systems that support student success. We will shortly be holding Parent Information Meetings for each year group to share updates on our Secondary section, including developments in attendance, punctuality, and the use of iSAMS. We will also host bespoke events throughout the year on Year 9 Options and the IB Programme.
We are also making improvements to our daily routines. Thanks to Mr McCrossan’s leadership, break and lunch routines have been greatly enhanced with a new salad bar and greater choice, and we will continue to refine our systems to ensure a positive and supportive environment for all students.
We are excited to welcome a number of exceptional new teachers to our Secondary and Sixth Form team:
- Ms Lawrence – Business Studies
- Mr Schito – Physics and Maths, Director of Science, Maths and Computing
- Mr Pattenden – Chemistry, Computing and Maths, Director of Tracking and Data
- Ms Ozkan – Chemistry
- Ms White – French
- Mr Symons – Maths and Computing
- Ms Balla – Maths, Secondary Maths Coordinator
- Ms Brosnan – English
- Ms Meridith – Geography and Business Studies
- Ms Young – PE
These educators bring a wealth of experience from the UK, Madrid, and international schools around the world, and we are confident they will make a significant impact on our students’ learning and development. You will have a chance to meet them over the coming weeks and months.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership. I look forward to seeing many of you at our upcoming events and to another year of growth, achievement, and community at Richmond Park.
Kind regards,

Brian Conway – Executive Director of Secondary and Sixth Form
Anita Sanchez – Executive Director of EYFS & Primary
