End of May, the whole school has taken part in a series of Sports Days. The Key Stage 1 and EYFS events were held at Richmond Park School, while the Year 3–10 events took place at Club Atletismo A.D. Sprint, with students travelling there by bus. The athletics club provided coordinators who ran each event, and students rotated in small groups around a carousel of activities. Timed events were recorded, and running events concluded with finals.
Students competed in their houses and wore coloured T‑shirts representing their team. These were exciting days filled with energy and participation, and families were invited to come and support
Key Stage 1
Sports week began with the Key Stage 1 Sports Day. Year 1 and 2 students took part in a variety of activities focused on fundamental movement skills: running, throwing, jumping, dodging and balancing. It was a fantastic event enjoyed by students, staff and families.
Year 3 & 4
The Year 3 and 4 Sports Day took place on Tuesday 19th May. Students competed in the following athletics events: relay, 100m sprint, 50m hurdles, 400m run, javelin, high jump and long jump. All students competed within their age category.
Year 5 & 6
The Year 5 and 6 Sports Day was held on Thursday, 21st May. Students participated in the same events as Year 3 and 4, with separate competitions for girls and boys. Standout performances came from Irene, Beltrán and Emilio, who excelled across multiple events.
Year 8 & 9
The Year 8 and 9 Sports Day took place on Tuesday 26th May. Both year groups competed in the same category, divided into girls and boys. Events included relay, 100m sprint, hurdles, 800m run, high jump, long jump and javelin. Notable performances came from Nico and Changuu in Year 9 and Maya in Year 8.
EYFS
The EYFS Sports Day was held on Wednesday 27th May. Nursery and Reception students took part in a carousel of activities including balancing, jumping, dodging, throwing and running. Year 8 and 9 sports leaders supported the event by demonstrating activities and encouraging younger students. Their leadership and enthusiasm were outstanding.
Year 7 & 10
The final Sports Day took place on Thursday 28th May for Year 7 and Year 10. Students competed within their year groups, divided into girls and boys, and participated in the same events as Year 8 and 9. Running events concluded with finals. Standout performances came from Arancha and Wen in Year 10 and Vega in Year 7.
Sports Days 2026 were a tremendous success and enjoyed by all. We would like to thank the students for their enthusiasm, the teachers and families for their support, Club Atletismo A.D. Sprint for helping to run and organise the events, the sports leaders for their dedication, and the PE department for their hard work. We are already looking forward to next year!
