The Federación de Golf de Madrid hosted the second round of the “Circuito Interescolar 2024–2025” on Thursday 22 May 2025 at the Encín Golf Hotel in Alcalá de Henares. The event brought together 44 teams from over 20 schools, each competing for a place in the overall standings.

Richmond Park entered two mixed-age teams, comprising pupils from Year 7 to Year 10. Owing to injuries, both teams fielded only six players rather than the usual eight — a challenge they faced with determination.

One of the Richmond Park teams, featuring Ignacio E., Maxwell D., and Lucas B., finished in 30th place — a solid effort given the circumstances. Unfortunately, the second team — made up of Iván M., Borja E., and Leo K. — had to withdraw during play due to an injury sustained by one of the players.

Taking part in the tournament for the first time, Richmond Park has nonetheless achieved a noteworthy 16th position in the overall classification after the two rounds. This is a significant accomplishment for a debut year.

“We’re extremely proud of our young golf team,” said a school golf representative Mr. Ward. “They showed great resilience and sportsmanship throughout, and we’re excited to see how they progress in future competitions.”

With this promising start, Richmond Park is looking forward to further participation in the tournament series and continued development of its golf programme.
