Richmond Park School ofrece una programación basada en el plan de estudios del British National Curriculum, enriquecido por asignaturas co-curriculares como por ejemplo “critical thinking skills”, entre otras. Our Philosophy: Learning Through Play
Learning in the Early Years should be joyful and meaningful. Through a carefully balanced mix of child-initiated exploration and teacher-led experiences, children build confidence, curiosity, and creativity.
Play is at the heart of all we do. It nurtures:

The EYFS Curriculum
Our curriculum follows the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage (England), also known as Development Matters.
It is broad, balanced, and designed to develop the whole child across seven key areas of learning.

Learning is organised around creative, real-world themes such as All About Me, People Who Help Us, Seasons and Celebrations, and Our World.
These topics connect every area of the curriculum, allowing children to learn through exploration and play in meaningful ways.
A Nurturing and Inclusive Environment
Our EYFS setting is welcoming, vibrant, and purposefully designed to spark curiosity. Each classroom is filled with opportunities for hands-on exploration, while our outdoor areas encourage active play and a connection with nature.
We place great emphasis on:
- good manners and positive relationships
- respect and kindness toward others
- developing responsibility and independence
The Additional Learning Needs (ALN) team works in close partnership with families and staff to ensure every child, whatever their learning style or need, can flourish.

Education at RPS is a partnership between home and school.
We keep parents informed and connected throughout the year via:

- Class Dojo – for class updates and messages
- Curriculum Letters – outlining themes and learning goals each term
- Online Parent–Teacher Meetings (via Parents Booking)
- Reports and key documents on the iSAMS Parent Portal
Parents are encouraged to read, talk, and play with their children at home, reinforcing confidence and curiosity beyond the classroom.
Our Dedicated EYFS Team
The Early Years team, led by Ms Sophie Pritchard, is made up of passionate teachers and experienced bilingual teaching assistants who understand the importance of early childhood education.
They work collaboratively to create a setting where every child is known, supported, and celebrated.
A Foundation for Lifelong Learning
The EYFS at Richmond Park School builds the essential foundation for all future learning.
From Pre-Nursery (age 2–3), Nursery (age 3-4) to Reception (age 4–5), children grow in confidence, independence, and curiosity.
By the time they move into Key Stage 1, they are enthusiastic, capable learners who are ready for the next chapter of their educational journey.
