The Federaci\u00f3n de Golf de Madrid hosted the second round of the \u201cCircuito Interescolar 2024\u20142025\u201d on Thursday 22 May 2025 at the Enc\u00c1\u00adn Golf Hotel in Alcal\u00e1 de Henares. The event brought together 44 teams from over 20 schools, each competing for a place in the overall standings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Richmond Park entered two mixed-age teams, comprising pupils from Year 7 to Year 10. Owing to injuries, both teams fielded only six players rather than the usual eight \u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u20ac\u009d a challenge they faced with determination.<\/p>\n

One of the Richmond Park teams, featuring Ignacio E., Maxwell D., and Lucas B., finished in 30th place \u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u20ac\u009d a solid effort given the circumstances. Unfortunately, the second team \u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u20ac\u009d made up of Iv\u00e1n M., Borja E., and Leo K. \u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u20ac\u009d had to withdraw during play due to an injury sustained by one of the players.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Taking part in the tournament for the first time, Richmond Park has nonetheless achieved a noteworthy 16th<\/sup> position in the overall classification after the two rounds. This is a significant accomplishment for a debut year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe\u2019re extremely proud of our young golf team,\u201d said a school golf representative Mr. Ward. \u201cThey showed great resilience and sportsmanship throughout, and we\u2019re excited to see how they progress in future competitions.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With this promising start, Richmond Park is looking forward to further participation in the tournament series and continued development of its golf programme.<\/p>\n
