RPS with Valencia<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

On 15 January our CEO, Juan Pedro Gonz\u00e1lez, drove the school van to Paiporta, Valencia, to hand over the 266 presents that our EYFS\/Primary children had prepared for same age children at the Ausi\u00c1\u00a0s March School.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n

Maite, the school\u2019s head, gave him a very warm welcome and did not have enough words to express the gratitude of her community for all the support they were receiving from the rest of Spain. She specially thanked all the RPS children involved and their families, and her main message that the CEO brough back was \u201cplease, do not forget us through these difficult times<\/strong>\u201d. Mr Gonz\u00e1lez then drove through different areas of their neighbourhood and could see first-hand the incredible tragedy that our Valencian neighbours have gone through. RPS will always support them.<\/p>\n<\/div>

Visit from Mario Motta <\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

On Thursday 19 December 2024, we brought our PPE (Parents sharing their Professional Experience) programme to life with a series of engaging events, providing students across multiple year groups with enriching and memorable experiences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the Year 11 PSHE lesson, students had the unique opportunity to meet a parent who is also a professional football player and trainer. The athlete shared captivating insights into his professional career and personal journey, discussing the resilience, discipline, and dedication needed to succeed at the highest levels of sport. Students eagerly participated, asking thoughtful questions about the challenges of professional sports and the lessons they could apply to their own lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the same day, Year 10 students showcased their creativity in a dynamic video project challenge as part of the English curriculum. Tasked with pitching an original idea for a Netflix Christmas film, teams vied for the attention of two parent judges who evaluated their proposals based on presentation, speaking, creativity and teamwork skills. Competing to win the pitch to \u201cNetflix\u00bb, the students rose to the challenge with innovative ideas and spirited presentations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These events highlight our dedication to connecting students with the real-world experiences and diverse expertise of our RPS parent community. Our PPE programme is designed to inspire and broaden horizons, bringing parents into the classroom adds a unique dimension to the learning experience.<\/p>\n<\/div>

On Thursday 19 December, Year 7 enjoyed a Japanese cooking taster lesson led by Mrs Kawaguchi. This was a fascinating morning where new experiences were gained, and some delicious food was created.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students worked well collaboratively and enjoyed the opportunities together. It was a joyful time at the end of term to share something new. Thank you to Mrs Kawaguchi for making this possible!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As in previous years, Year 5 visited the Teatro Real and were introduced to how an opera house produces its performances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The guides explained the history and characteristics of the building, while students enjoyed looking at the details of the main hall, the orchestra pit, and the royal balcony. The children had the chance to enter the ballet and orchestra rehearsal rooms and admire the views of the city from there. They also explored the costumes, wigs and characterisation workshops and listened to explanations of the different processes.<\/p>\n<\/div>

Children displayed their curiosity by asking inquisitive questions. Everyone enjoyed this magical place!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

VIPEIKA: Construction of the Kite Nursery in Kocuc <\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

During the Christmas period the works stopped for a few days, but now the work has been resumed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The classrooms are almost finished, the only thing missing is the painting of the outside, waxing and placing the desks in one of the classrooms, the other is always left open for lunch (the children always eat on the floor like at home) and they are starting the construction of the kitchen, teachers’ office and storage of food and school material, latrines and fencing.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Yr 11 visit to Los Chicos del Coro<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

We arranged a trip for Year 11 students and members of our school choir to visit Teatro La Latina in order to see the acclaimed musical production of \u201cLos Chicos del Coro\u201d (Les Choristes). This is based on a film that Year 11 students study in IGCSE French classes and this was also an exciting way to extend their learning beyond the constraints of the class room through highlighting the relevance of cultural studies, in addition to offering a fun and enriching theatre trip after their mock exams in January. We saw the evening performance on Thursday 16 January 2025. All students including the choir members and some parents enjoyed an opportunity to watch an outstanding production live in the city centre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was a wonderful evening and we hope to arrange similar outings in the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From 22 to 24 January, Mr Gonz\u00e1lez, Mr Conway, Ms Reid and Ms Field represented Richmond Park School at the prestigious BETT Conference in London.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This global event, hosted at the bustling ExCeL Centre in East London, brought together educators, innovators, and changemakers to explore the latest advancements in education technology and drive improvements in teaching and learning worldwide.<\/p>\n<\/div>

It is with great pride and excitement that we announce Richmond Park School has officially been authorised as an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School, accredited to offer the IB Diploma Programme. This achievement marks a significant milestone for our school community, reflecting years of hard work, dedication, and a shared commitment to excellence in education. Attached is our Certificate of Authorisation and Letter of Confirmation, and we are pleased to have exceeded the expectations of the IB for our hard work and dedication, and this is recognised by the IB Organisation in their report.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Richmond Park School alevins girls secured their first league victory in style, delivering an emphatic 7-1 win over St. George’s. The team came out firing from the opening whistle, quickly establishing a 2-0 lead with their relentless attacking play.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Richmond\u2019s dominance continued throughout the first half, showcasing their exciting brand of football. By halftime, the scoreline reflected their superiority, standing at an impressive 4-1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The second half saw no let-up from Richmond Park as they maintained their high intensity, adding three more goals to seal the 7-1 victory. Monica shone with a spectacular free kick, while Blanca put in an excellent performance between the posts, making key saves to keep St. George’s at bay.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The goals were shared among Irene (2), Monica, Valeria (2), and Natalia (2), highlighting the team\u2019s collective effort and attacking prowess. This outstanding performance sets a strong foundation for the rest of the season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Richmond Park School boys’ alevin team begin the Year with a 4-1 comeback victory over Cadiz de Cortes<\/strong><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The boys’ alevin team kicked off the year in style, securing an impressive 4-1 win over Cadiz de Cortes. Despite a sluggish start, Cadiz had the better of the first half and deservedly went into the break with a 1-0 lead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, Richmond Park School came out with renewed intensity in the second half, showcasing their determination and quality. Their efforts paid off as they overturned the deficit, scoring four goals in a dominant second-half display.<\/p>\n<\/div>

Gabi, Erick, Nico, and I\u00f1igo C found the back of the net, contributing to a well-earned victory and highlighting Richmond Park’s resilience and attacking flair.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Richmond Park School benjamines push Kikitos to the limit in hard-fought match<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Richmond Park School benjamines put in a spirited performance against Kikitos, ultimately falling 1-4 in a tightly contested match. Despite the scoreline, Richmond took an early lead thanks to a fantastic free kick from Beltran and came close to doubling their advantage on several occasions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the game tied 1-1 heading into the final five minutes, Kikitos’ fresh substitutes made the difference, securing the win with late goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The whole team worked hard, showing promise and determination throughout and the players will look to regroup and bounce back stronger in next week\u2019s fixture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Basketball<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Basketball is like life itself, it is a constant learning, and when things go wrong, when injustices are committed, when you see that the fruit of your work comes out sometimes and sometimes not so much, you have to keep rowing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The game against SCF A, a very good team, second in the table, brought us a hopeful start, in which we were leading by up to 7 points and a second half in which the excessively aggressive game, in phases, of the rival team, allowed by the referee, has to make us learn both players and coach to know how to deal with these situations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This does not prevent us from admitting the superiority of the rival. We will correct our concentration errors with hard work in training.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our infantil and alevin teams returned to the court after the Christmas break, enthusiastically facing new challenges in the Escuelas Cat\u00f3licas de Madrid League.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The girls faced La Salle Sagrado Coraz\u00f3n in a match full of intensity. Despite the weeks without competition, our players showed their commitment and maintained a competitive rhythm, standing out for their teamwork and their ability to overcome. On the other hand, the fry faced S.C. Chamart\u00c1\u00adn, in a match where enthusiasm and companionship were present in every point.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although the score did not favour us, the players showed a great attitude, resuming their game with confidence and preparation for the next matches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We would like to congratulate our players for their effort after the Christmas break and thank their families for their constant support. This return to competition is just the beginning of a year full of opportunities to continue learning and growing as a team.<\/p>\n<\/div>

A standout performance came from Angela, who was instrumental in the win, scoring an incredible five goals to lead the team to victory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The team is showing remarkable progress each week, and this win serves as a testament to their hard work and dedication. Looking ahead, Richmond faces a challenging fixture against Nueva Espa\u00f1a, the current league leaders. The team will be aiming to carry their momentum into the next game and rise to the challenge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A standout performance came from Richmond Park’s goalkeeper, Blanca, who made several crucial saves to keep her team in the game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Richmond Park girls created numerous chances and came close to scoring on several occasions, showing great attacking intent and persistence. Their efforts were finally rewarded when Gabriela found the back of the net, securing the decisive goal and earning Richmond their second win of the year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Richmond Park School alevin team delivered an outstanding performance in their match against Pinar Rosales, securing a commanding 6-1 victory. The team started the game with great intensity and composure, quickly establishing control and taking an early two-goal lead through well-taken goals from Erick and Pepe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The team displayed remarkable resilience, twice coming back from two goals down, showcasing their outstanding fighting spirit. Felix led by example as captain, inspiring his teammates throughout the match, while Beltran\u2019s unstoppable free kicks proved to be a constant threat to the opposition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a dramatic and tense finale, Guillem produced a crucial save to ensure Richmond Park earned a well-deserved point against top opposition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A fantastic effort from the entire squad\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u20ac\u009dwell done, team!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Richmond Park denied by woodwork and inspired goalkeeping<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Richmond Park School alevin boys faced a tough challenge against league leaders Escuela de Hortaleza. The match began with Hortaleza dominating the early exchanges, capitalizing on their momentum to take the lead through a well-executed corner kick. Shortly after, they doubled their advantage with a swift counter-attack. Despite the early setbacks, Richmond Park responded strongly and created several promising chances towards the end of the first half. However, they were unable to find the net, going into the break trailing 2-0.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the second half, Richmond Park continued their attacking efforts, applying sustained pressure and creating numerous scoring opportunities. However, they were repeatedly denied by an outstanding performance from the Hortaleza goalkeeper. <\/p>\n<\/div>

When they did manage to beat the keeper, the woodwork frustratingly came to the opposition\u2019s rescue. Richmond\u2019s persistence finally paid off when Erick scored a well-taken free kick to reduce the deficit. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the closing stages, Richmond Park pushed hard for an equalizer, showing great determination and attacking intent. Unfortunately, Hortaleza secured their victory with a late free kick, sealing a 3-1 win.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Basket against Tres Olivos<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

This last game of the first phase brought us the best quarter we have played in the competition, the last one, which besides being technically satisfactory, it is also satisfactory in terms of the good physical preparation of the team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There were moments of intensity typical of teams four years older. We are still lacking in attack, but we are starting to see better decision making. However, as a coach, the only non-negotiable for me is the intensity, the fight and not giving up against better teams, and in that we are a 10. The defeat, 18-5 against Tres Olivos A, was within expectations.<\/p>\n<\/div>
