PARENT AWARENESS PROGRAMME<\/strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

RPS thinking about Valencia<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

We are using the Parent Awareness section in this bulletin to share with you the initiatives that RPS has had and is organising towards our Valencia neighbours, after the tragic floods of November.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our gardener has planted a beautiful orange tree and we have placed a plaque by this tree in memory of those who lost their lives due to Dana.<\/p>\n<\/div>

Our EYFS & Primary children have contributed by sending toys and small accessories to students in the CEIP Ausi\u00c1\u00a0s March school in Paiporta, the most affected area in Valencia after the Dana. Each of our children prepared a shoe box filled with thoughtful Christmas gifts for another child of the same age, items that a similar aged child would enjoy and appreciate during this holiday season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Secondary choir at Residencia Atenea<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

On Thursday 5 December, the Secondary Choir went on a very special visit to a local residencia de mayores. The singers put on their festive headbands and walked to Residencia Atenea. When we arrived, we were greeted by staff and we set ourselves up in one of the lounge rooms. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The students sang a programme of 8 songs, including \u201cWaterloo\u201d, \u201cJingle Bells\u201d and \u201cLos Peces en el R\u00c1\u00ado\u201d. The residents enjoyed the singing very much. Some of them clapped along, some sang with us and there were many smiles. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The students were a credit to themselves and the school. They conducted themselves in a friendly and professional manner even when faced by the challenges of the residents’ reactions to our singing and when we had to sing our whole programme of songs three times!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The students were rewarded with a drink and snacks, which was very welcome after so much singing. Well done to Mar\u00c1\u00ada and Valeria for their friendly, clear speaking in their introduction. Thank you to Mr. Bird for accompanying us and singing along too. It was a heart-warming morning. Well done Secondary choir. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bookfair<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

On Tuesday 10 December, Richmond Park School hosted its term 1 Christmas Book Fair (Espabooks), and it was a resounding success! Students browsed through a wide selection of books, from colourful picture books to captivating novels, finding the perfect reads to take home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Secondary students enjoyed their chance to purchase during their lunch hour, while parents joined in later in the afternoon, exploring the collection and purchasing books for holiday reading. The event was a good opportunity to encourage reading and spark imagination within our school community.<\/p>\n<\/div>

Yr 5 visit to Museo Lunar<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Year 5 had a great visit to the Lunar Museum in Fresnedillas de la Oliva. The children were fascinated to find out all about its connection with NASA and the significant role it had during the Apollo moon landings. They met real astronauts and an interesting 3D simulation where we visited the eight planets of the Solar Christmas.<\/p>\n<\/div>

IB parents presentation<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

On 4 December we held a Y11 IBDP and IGCSE parent information meeting in the performance centre. We confirmed that our IB verification visit had been successful and discussed the following main points:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
