To mark the occasion, they organised a vibrant and inclusive celebration for the&nbsp;<strong>European Day of Languages<\/strong>, showcasing initiative, teamwork, and creativity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hear all about the event from our IB CAS Journalist, Julia:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>&#8216;For the European Day of Languages, each group of students contributed with creative and engaging activities for the whole school. Some students prepared language taster lessons in Russian and Polish, giving the younger students the chance to learn new words and discover unique characteristics of both languages. Other students organised the bake sale, which was a big success and brought everyone together to enjoy delicious treats while raising funds for Vipeka. We also hosted a spelling bee in French, testing participants\u2019 knowledge and spelling skills in a fun and competitive way. An other group designed a poster competition that encouraged students to express their ideas about the importance of languages through art.&#8217;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Throughout the day, students prepared a wide range of engaging activities designed to promote language learning and cultural awareness across the school. These sessions encouraged curiosity and appreciation for linguistic diversity, allowing students to step outside their comfort zones and experience what it is like to learn something entirely new.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\u00a0<em>bake sale<\/em> was a tremendous success. The aroma of freshly baked goods filled the air as students, staff, and visitors gathered to enjoy an assortment of sweet and savoury treats. Beyond this, the event also raised funds for\u00a0<em>Vipeka<\/em>, a charitable organisation supported by the school. The bake sale perfectly embodied the CAS spirit of creativity and service, bringing the school community together for a good cause.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The day concluded with a shared sense of accomplishment and pride. Through collaboration, creativity, and community spirit, the Year 12 IB students demonstrated the very essence of the CAS programme. Their efforts highlighted not only the joy of learning languages but also the power of teamwork and cultural exchange.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Congratulations to all the Year 12 students<\/strong>&nbsp;for their initiative, enthusiasm, and excellent organisation.
